Rose D. Nagy, 94, Accomplished Baker

Rose D. Nagy (nee Barilaric) 94 of Lorain, died Wednesday June 23, 2010 at New Life Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 3, 1915 in Lorain and was a life long resident. She attended Lorain Public schools and was employed at National Tube Cafeteria, American Shipyards during the war, Bendix-Westinghouse in Elyria, and Clarkins in the Shoe Department.

She is a member the Church of St. Peter, Lorain, and was a former member of St. Vitus Croatian Church. At St. Vitus, she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, St. Theresa’s Guild and various Croatian Lodges. She was member of the Croatian Club of Lorain.

She enjoyed attending Cleveland Indians Baseball games and was a member of the Wahoo Club. She was an accomplished baker and was well known for her exceptional desserts. She enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. James (Doreen) Rieth of Lorain, and Mrs. Thomas (Kathleen) Rieth of Vermilion, Grandsons, Zachary Rieth, Jacob Rieth and Joshua Rieth, and Great Grandsons, Gavin Rieth, Sammy Rieth, Jaxon Rieth and Maxim Rieth and her sister, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Weber.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Walter, in 1992, her parents, Vido Barilaric and Dora (Lukesic) Barilaric, and her brothers Andrew, Jack and David Barilaric.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 26 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Charles Henkle, Parochial Vicar, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Lorain.
