Mary H. Trnian, 77, LPN

Mary H. Trnian (nee Kopronica), 77, of Lorain, died Tuesday July 6, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.

She was born March 21, 1933 in Lorain and had resided in Lorain most of her life.

Mary graduated from high school in Peoria, Illinois. She attended the St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Lorain and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain as a Licensed Practical Nurse and Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for over 25 years.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain and had recently joined the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. She was a member of St. Ann's Lodge Br. #114 and the Ladies Pennsylvania Slovak Catholic Union. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, was a dedicated Notre Dame fan and enjoyed taking casino bus trips and playing bingo.

She is survived by her children Paula Chet (Robert), Susan Farkas (Michael), Deborah Hasel (Douglas), Michael Trnian (Shannon) and Lisa Trnian, grandchildren: Anjeanette Caffarel (Christopher), Alicia Chet, Michael Farkas (Amberly), Christian Hasel (Deidre), Kelly Trnian, Kathryn Stanchak, James Trnian Hasel, Matthew Trnian, Nicholas Bourque and Maxwell Bourque, great grandchildren Michael Farkas, Skye Farkas and Cassandra Lynn Caffarel, sister Helen "Toots" Stanziano (Ted) and brothers Albert Kopronica (Joanne), Richard Kopronica and Ronald Kopronica (Sharon).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Peter P. Trnian in 1999, parents Joseph and Mary Kopronica (nee Jankovic), grandson Alexander Chet, sister Katherine Kelling and brothers Joseph, John, James, William and Frank Kopronica.

The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
