Virginia M. Miller, 86, Enjoyed Cooking

Virginia M. (nee Hume) Miller, 86, of Amherst passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Kingston of Vermilion following a short illness.

Mrs. Miller was born in Lorain on April 26, 1924. She attended twelve years at St. Mary's School and graduated high school in 1942.

Mrs. Miller was employed for 24 years at Nordson Corporation in Amherst as head of the customer service department. She enjoyed cooking, solving word puzzles and was an avid reader. She was a 10 year cancer survivor.

She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in South Amherst.

Mrs. Miller is survived by daughters Donna (Robert) Prichard of Lima, Justine (Rob) Martin of Colten, CA, Carol (Jack) Bradshaw of San Bernadino, CA, sons Thomas Miller of Wakeman, Paul M. (Cindy) Miller of Amherst, grandchildren Shawn Prichard, Michael Prichard, Thomas Prichard, Holly Miller, Gary Miller, Genene Martin, Mathew Martin, nine great grandchildren and a sister Helen Woodward of Sheffield Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Robert P. Miller in 1992, her parents Thomas J. and Blondina (nee Burgett) Hume, brothers Virgil Hume, Elmer Hume, sisters Geraldine Miraldi and Rita Hume.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 4-7 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 am with Father John Tezie, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Mary Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
