Matthew Rokasy, 24, Enjoyed Watching and Analyzing Movies

He was born August 7, 1986 in Oberlin and had been a lifelong resident of New Russia Township.

Matthew graduated with honors from Elyria Catholic High School in 2005. He attended Columbia College in Tarzana, California where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema & Television.

Matthew was a member of the former St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. He enjoyed watching and analyzing movies and writing.

He is survived by his parents John and Kathleen Rokasy (nee Venzel) of New Russia Township, sister Molly Rokasy of Queens, New York, uncle Mike Rokasy of Amherst Township and uncle and aunt Bob & Jackie Venzel of Perrysburg. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mike and Irene Rokasy, maternal grandparents Joe and Julie Venzel and aunt Michelle Rokasy.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
