John W. Lopez, 46, OSU, Browns and Indians Fan
John W. Lopez, 46, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 in The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus following a brief illness.
He was born May 23, 1964 in Cleveland and raised here in Lorain. John graduated in 1982 from Southview High School, Lorain. He earned his Communications bachelor degree in 1986 from The Ohio State University, Columbus.
John worked for AT&T in Columbus as a Customer Sales and Service person for approximately 20 years. He attended Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. He was an avid OSU, Brown and Indians fan. John was a "movie buff" who enjoyed reading and his Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Stogie.
He will be deeply missed by his son Vincent R. Lopez of Columbus, his sisters Dolores Mendez and Hortencia Leibas both of Lorain and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death his parents Robert and Otilia (Nee Ybarra) Lopez.
John's family will receive friends Sunday, August 22, 2010, from 4 to 8 P.M. in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain,(440) 277-8164. Where closing prayers will be Monday at 9:45 in the funeral home, then Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue Lorain. Rev. Father Curtis Kondik will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
