Margaret Babich, 95, Enjoyed Spending Time with her Family
Margaret Babich (nee Dopirak), age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 24, 2010 at the Harbinger Hospice in the Rae-Ann Nursing Home of Westlake, Ohio. She was born on September 30, 1914 in Youngstown, Ohio and had been a resident of Lorain since 1951 where she was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for the past 59 years.
She retired from Lorain Products in 1978, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, watching television games shows, reading, and taking care of her home. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing to polka music and playing baseball. Later in life she liked to watch the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State football.
Survivors include her son Robert and his wife Janet residing in North Ridgeville, and her grandson David and his wife Allison residing in Alexandria, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1967, by her parents Michael and Anna (nee Sujeta) Dopirak, by brothers Michael, Paul, Pete, and John, and by sisters Mary Cervenka, Sue Jablonowski, and Eleanor Gobec.
Visitation will be Saturday in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Richard Hudak, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
