Wilma Deliman, 83, She Enjoyed Sewing, Gardening and Cooking

Photo of Wilma Deliman Sheffield Township: Wilma Deliman (nee Pongracz), 83, of Sheffield Township, died Monday August 30, 2010 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.

She was born September 5, 1926 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of Sheffield Township.

Wilma attended Clearview schools. During World War II, she worked at Steel Stamping Toy Factory. She was a wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved sewing, gardening, decorating cakes and was a fantastic Hungarian cook and baker. She adored her grandsons and followed their sports and band events.

Wilma was a lifelong member of Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain. In the 60's, she and her mother and sisters raised money for the church by catering weddings and other events in the church hall. She was a hardworking Clearview Band Booster, member of the PTA, member of the Stop 7 Ladies Circle of Hungarian Reformed Church and the Blazettes Firemen's Wives Group.

She is survived by her daughter Jo Lynne Hall (Mark A.) of Sheffield Township, grandsons Mark Joseph Hall and Joseph Deliman Hall, brother Louis Pongracz of Elyria, sisters Sarah Molnar and Helen Dennis, both of Oberlin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Joseph C. Deliman in 2002, parents Antal and Elizabeth Pongracz (nee Kalassay), brothers William and Julius Pongracz and sisters Agnes Thompson and Julia Berki.

The family will receive friends Thursday 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Eva Tamasy, pastor of Westside Lutheran Church in Cleveland, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
