Fredrick W. Renaldo, 65, US Army Veteran, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family
Fredrick W. Renaldo, age 65, passed from this life on September 26th at home with his family soon after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
Born in Brant, New York, and a lifelong Ohio resident of Lorain and Erie Counties. He is survived by his wife, Caroline, of 41 years, and children Randy, Terry (Lee), Dawn, Jim, Christopher, Michelle and Brett; grandchildren Alec, Krista, Taylor, Jalen, Austin, Donovan, Kacy and Chloe; brothers Robert, Kenneth, and Lloyd; sisters Susan, Beatrice, Judy and Margaret.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mildred, and sisters Loretta
and Sharon.
Fred served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 and was a life member of AMVETS Post 22 in Vermilion, a member of the The American Legion Post 257 and La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (40 & 8) in Loudonville as he enjoyed serving fellow veterans. Following his military service, he moved to Lorain and worked with the Ford Motor Company at the Lorain Assembly Plant where he retired after 30 years as a union member of the United Auto Workers Local 425.
Since his retirement, Fred enjoyed serving his community as he frequently transported Vermilion area senior citizens for Erie County. Fred loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and many friends at the Arrow Point Campground in Loudonville, Ohio. He will be deeply missed by all those he loved so much and forever remembered for his wit and playful spirit.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain is handling the family’s arrangements. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 29th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 30th at 1 p.m. with military honors provided by the Vermilion Veterans Council. Services will be followed by a 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. gathering of family and friends with dinner provided at AMVETS Post 22, 1517 State Rte. 60, Vermilion, OH 44089, (440) 967-9269. Burial will be private.
