Maria Sonia Flores, 56, Enjoyed Crafts, Ceramics and Knitting
Maria Sonia Flores, 56 of Lorain, passed away September 30, 2010 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 20, 1954 in Lorain. In 2003 she returned to Lorain from Jefferson, Ohio. Maria graduated from Lorain High School in 1972. She studied computer science at Lorain County Community College.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Maria enjoyed making crafts, ceramics, knitting and crocheting.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Maria Elena Dodson of Geneva, Ohio, her brothers Jose Flores of Lorain and Timothy Flores of Germany, her sisters Soqui Flores of Vermilion, Rosemary Ortiz of Neptune, New Jersey, Denise Thorne and Teresa Flores both of Lorain and Sr. Patricia Flores H. M. of Youngstown and 24 nieces and nephews and 48 grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pedro Jose and Teresa (nee DeJesus) Flores, and brothers Fred Flores, Cyprian Flores and Matthews Flores.
Her family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164.
Closing prayers will be Monday 12:45 p.m. then Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. in Sacred Heath Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Father William A. Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
