George A. Pressick, 53, Enjoyed the Outdoors and Spending Time with his Children
George A. Pressick, age 53, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Saturday October 9, 2010.
Born in Lorain on August 19, 1957, he was a graduate of Lorain High School as a member of the Class of 1975. George subsequently completed an apprenticeship program with the Ironworker Technical College through Max Hayes Vocational School in Cleveland. For the past two years he had been employed as a Boilermaker Superintendant for the Bechtel Power Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
Well known for his abilities as a fix-it man, he enjoyed the outdoors as well as spending time with his children. Additional interests included riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years Sharon (nee Kellick), daughter Erica Pressick of Boston, son Wyatt Pressick of Pittsburgh, mother Dolores Pressick (nee Rigo) of Lorain, sister Lee Anne Pressick of Grafton, and niece Mia.
He was preceded in death by his father John "George" Pressick in 2005 and by his brother Michael. A. Pressick in 2009.
Visitation will be Wednesday October 13th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of God Catholic Church (corner of Reid Avenue and 8th Street). The Reverend Daniel O. Divis, Pastor of the parish will officiate.
