Nida M. Hauck-Masten, 97, Red Cross and Lorain Community Hospital Volunteer

Photo of Nida M. Hauck-Masten Nida M. Hauck-Masten age 97 a former Lorain resident died Saturday October 9, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Elyria.

She was born September 7, 1913 in Johnson City, TN, and lived in the Lorain area most of her life.

Mrs. Hauck-Masten was a registered nurse. She worked for Dr. Dominic Zaworski for 15 years, then Drs. Sciarotta and Bartek for five years. She also worked at Bradley Road Nursing Home and Avon Oaks Nursing Home.

She was a member of Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church and their Women's Fellowship.

She belonged to Pinochle Club for many years, also the AARP, and volunteered for the Red Cross, and at Lorain Community Hospital.

Mrs. Hauck-Masten is survived by daughters Helen (Raymond) Rognstad of Milton, FL, Beth (Don) Baumgartner of Lancaster, PA, Barbara (Thomas) Tomson of Avon Lake, and Janet (Robert) Nelson of Elyria. She has six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and a step-daughter Ann Henriksen of Zeeland, MI.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Lloyd Hauck in 1974, her second husband Ralph Masten in 1996, a grandson Michael Rognstad, and her parents Elizabeth Holcombe, and Joseph Holcombe.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Graveside services will be Wednesday October 13, at 11 a.m. in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Rev. Bradley J. Donahue will officiate.
