Ruben "Chunky" Caribe, 51, Enjoyed Latin Music and Working On Cars
Ruben "Chunky" Caribe 51 of Lorain, passed away Thursday, October, 21 2010 in the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 27, 1958 in Bridgeport, Conneaut. He came to Lorain in 1985.
He worked for Elyria Plating as a waste water technician and was a manager for Pearl Village Apartments, Lorain.
He attended Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Chunky enjoyed Latin music and working on cars. He loved to entertain with his gift of humor. He also loved to walk his dog Gizmo.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 31 years Wanda Caribe of Lorain, sons Ruben (Tessala) Caribe II and Stephen Caribe both of Lorain; mother Benita Caribe of Aguada, Puerto Rico; brothers Nelson Caribe of Westhaven, Conneaut, Victor Caribe of Lorain, Willie and Norberto Caribe of Bridgeport; sisters Carmen LaIndia Caribe of Lorain, Noelia Dolly Caribe of Bridgeport, and Patricia Quinones Caribe of New York. He will also be missed by the Marrero family his "second family".
He was preceded in death by his father Emilio Caribe in 1995.
His family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Rev. Mr. Jose Flores permanent deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain will officiate.
