Josephine Torma, 104, Loved Dressing Up and Wearing Jewelry
Josephine Torma (nee Podpadec) 104, of Vermilion, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Inn at Chappel Creek/ Kingston of Vermilion after a short illness.
Born September 21, 1906 in Cleveland, Ohio she had been a Vermilion resident for the past 68 years moving from Cleveland.
Josephine worked as a collection supervisor for Lorain Credit Bureau for 23 years retiring in 1979. She was also a model for McCann Advertising Agency, Cleveland. She loved dressing up and wearing her favorite jewelry.
She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, and the Slovenian National Benefit Society. She was also a resident of Volunteer Bay in Vermilion.
She is survived by a nephew, Raymond Pengel, niece, Eleanor Epply and several great and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie (nee Turk) Podpadec; and her sisters Marie Pengel, Vera Koss, and Victoria Martin.
Friends may call at the Riddle Funeral Home, Monday, October 25, 2010 from 10 am until the time of a prayer service at 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion Ohio. The Reverend Ronald Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.
