Maxine L. Pennington, 72, Enjoyed Bowling, Animals, and Her Canine Tippy

Photo of Maxine L. Pennington Maxine L. (nee Schmidt) Pennington, 72, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Fairview General Hospital following a short illness.

Mrs. Pennington was born in Cleveland on November 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Herbert Charles Schmidt and Rose Lena (nee Obert) Schmidt Kearney.

She was a 1955 graduate of Brookside High School. She served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1957. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Sheffield Lake.

In the early 1960's she lived in Japan, while her husband was serving with
the US Air Force. She moved stateside to Lynwood California and then in
1971 returned to Sheffield Lake.

Mrs. Pennington enjoyed bowling and animals. She had a special place in
her heart for her beloved canine companion Tippy.

She is survived by daughters Rose Sauers (Peter) of Belgium, WI, Terri
Watkins of Amherst, and sisters Eileen Kinter (Bernard) of Streetsboro, and
Rosa Gee (Joseph) of Sheffield Lake. She is also survived by 16 nieces and
nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her
husband, William J. Pennington on Feb. 21, 2000, also brothers Herbert,
Albert and William Schmidt.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 10 a.m. until services at
Noon in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 West 5th
Street, Lorain with Rev. Robert Smith, Pastor of United Church of Christ -
Sheffield Lake, officiating.

Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
