Elizabeth E. "Betty" Hribar-Sulkoski, 93, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family and Volunteering
Elizabeth E. "Betty" Hribar-Sulkoski (nee Czebak), age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday October 25th at Kingston of Vermilion.
She was born in Lorain on March 30, 1917. A life-long resident, she attended Lorain High School with the Class of 1935-B.
Betty formerly worked at Western Automatic, Nelson Stud Welding, and Lear-Romec Corporation; she had most recently been employed by the Nordson Corporation particularly with their Blue Jacket Service from 1970 until the time of her retirement in 1982.
Mrs. Sulkoski was a member of the American Women’s Association, the Black River Historical Society, and the Senior’s Garden Club. She enjoyed activities with these groups, as well as breakfast with the Nelson Stud Retirees. She was also found joy in volunteering at Masson and Washington Avenue Schools, and spending time with her family and friends who knew Grandma Betty as caring and generous and by the affectionate nickname of The Cheesecake Lady.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce (nee Hribar) Hambly of Lorain, grandchildren Holly Ralich of Grafton, Lisa Dovala of Amherst, Jill (Jim) Budzilek of Wellington, Dawn (David) Johnson of Amherst, Craig (Denise) Hambly of Farmington, Michigan, Tim (Kim) Hambly of Delta, Ohio, Ed Hribar of Lorain, Ken (Alofa) Hribar of Marietta California, Jeff (Marie) Hribar of Otto, North Carolina, Doug Hribar of Sheffield, Ohio, along with 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Geraldine (Charlie) McClure, and niece Venla (Gerald) Urig.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Stanley Hribar, by her second Husband Ed Sulkoski, by her son Alvin Hribar, by her parents Joseph and Margaret (nee Locus) Czebak, by her brother Joseph Czebak, and by her sister Margaret (John) Unkuri.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Craig Hovanec, Pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter presiding. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
