Theodore W. "Ted" Wright, 65, US Army Vetern, Enjoyed Fishing, Puzzles and Working on Cars

Theodore W. "Ted" Wright, 65, of Elyria, died Tuesday November 2, 2010 in the emergency room of EMH Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born May 18, 1945 in Lorain and had been a resident of Elyria since 1972.

Ted was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War and earned the rank of Specialist 4. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marksman, and two overseas service bars.

Ted worked at the former United States Steel for 18 years, and was a mobile equipment mechanic with Jefferson Trucking in Lorain for 10 years before retiring in 2000.

Mr. Wright was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1079 in Elyria. He enjoyed fishing, camping, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, instant scratch-off lottery tickets, and working on cars. He had restored a 1953 Ford pick-up.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eleanor S. "Susie" (nee Boord) Wright of Elyria, sister Rosi Jursinski of Vermilion, brothers Grant Wright of Toledo and Bill Wright of Lorain, aunt Rosetta Bush of Elyria Township, many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and long-time friends Jack Csincsak and Terry Maher. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Valerie (nee Csincsak) Wright, sister Joyce Yancey, and stepsisters Kathy Los and Emily Edgar.

The family will receive friends Friday 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. by members of VFW Post #1079 of Elyria. Burial with military honors will take place on Saturday in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Farmington, West Virginia.
