Margarita Vazquez, 62, Enjoyed Cooking, Shopping and Home Remodeling
Margarita "Mayie" Vazquez (nee Rodriguez-Santiago) 62 of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a brief illness.
She was born July 27, 1948 in Maunabo, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain from Humacoa, Puerto Rico in 1993. She received a bachelors degree Economic Community Development from University New Hampshire extension in San Juan in the early 1980's.
Mayie was a member of the Iglesia de Dios Inc. in Lorain. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and home remodeling.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 35 years Benito Vazquez of Lorain; daughter Myrdeomar (Ramon) Silva of Lorain; sons Migdoel F. (Brandy) Vazquez of Charlotte, North Carolina and Carlos Morales of Lorain; sisters Myrna Rodriguez of Melbourne, Florida and Alalina Ruiz of Brooklyn, New York; brothers Rafael Rodriguez of Maunabo and Edwin Ortiz of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico; grandchildren Rafael A. Velazquez and Deadimyr A. Silva both of Lorain, Alexander J. and Alexis Vazquez both Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents Felix Rodriguez and Dedina Santiago and a brother Efrain Santiago.
Her family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until time of her service at 7 p.m. in the Iglesia de Dios, Inc. 300 East 28th Street, Lorain. Reverend Angel L. Rivera, pastor will officiate. She will be taken to Maunabo for funeral and burial there.
