Maria E. Cirilo, 68, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family and Friends and Cooking

Photo of Maria E. Cirilo Maria E. Cirilo (nee Maldonado) 68, of Lorain, died Thursday, November 3, 2010, at New Life Hospice, following a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico March 29, 1942. She and Hector L. married on August 26, 1961. The family lived between Lorain, Ohio and Puerto Rico for many years, finally settling back in Lorain in 1977.

She recently retired from Avon Oaks Nursing Caring Community as a nurses aide after 35 years.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. Cooking for them was her passion, it brought her great joy to see people enjoy her food. She was full of life and will be greatly missed.

She will be dearly missed by her sons Hector L. (Stephanie) Cirilo Jr. of Avon, Joseph A. Cirilo (Beth) of Kingston, PA, Albert Cirilo of Fussen, Germany, Jovito Cirilo (Alison) of Sheffield Village, Santiago (Misty) Cirilo Chapmansboro, Tennessee, and Luis J. Cirilo of Columbus; daughter Annie Cirilo of Lorain and brother Jose (Cecelia) Maldonado, 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Hector L. in 2005 and her parents Santiago and Maria Maldonado.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Her nephew, Rev. Israel "Ray" Maldonado of Philadelphia will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
