Olive M. Pawlak, 82, Great Cook, Terrific Baker and Enjoyed Crafts and Card Parties
Olive M. Pawlak (nee Burkhart), 82, of Lorain, died peacefully on Tuesday November 9, 2010 at a private care facility in Amherst.
She was born May 2, 1928 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Olive was a graduate of Lorain High School. She was employed for a brief time as a cafeteria worker for Lorain city schools.
Olive was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lorain and had recently joined Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Lorain. She was a great cook and terrific baker, enjoyed crafts and attending card parties and playing pinochle.
She is survived by her children Patricia Argenti of Lorain, Michael (Gay) Pawlak of Seven Hills, Kathleen Sofia of Lorain, Thomas (Danita) Pawlak of Lorain and Constance (Thomas) Moll of Lorain, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister Audrey Lauer of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Leo Pawlak in 1984, son Martin Pawlak in 1998, grandson Martin Pawlak, parents Oliver and Marie Burkhart (nee Smith) and brothers Donald and Richard Burkhart.
A private family funeral service was held. The Rev. Louis Maldonado, deacon of Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Lorain, officiated. Burial was in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
