Eleanor M. Ivan, 78, Enjoyed Decorating Cakes, Crocheting and Knitting

She was born February 28, 1932 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Eleanor was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years John Ivan, children Diane Charlton, Deborah Flowers and Mary Ivan-Garza, all of Lorain, Margaret Swisher of San Antonio, Texas, Georgine Ivan of Lorain, John C. Ivan of Batavia and Michael Ivan of Olmsted Twp, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and sister Joan Imbrogno of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Ivan in 2006, grandson Jacob Garza and parents Joseph and Margaret Cisarik (nee Drop).

The family will receive friends Friday 2 p.m - 4 p.m., 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Parastas service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. The Panachida service will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
