Paul Kurucz, 81, US Army Veteran, Enjoyed Spending Time at His Cottage, Fishing and Polka Music

He was born April 18, 1929 in Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain/Elyria area most of his life.
Paul graduated from Clearview High School where he played varsity football. He served with the US Army and was stationed in Germany just after World War II.
Paul worked at Nelson Stud in Lorain and TRW in Elyria Township as a machinist/set-up man/lead man before retiring.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township. Paul enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Middle Bass Island, fishing, gardening and polka music. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Notre Dame football fan.
He is survived by his daughter Denise Vetter of Jacksonville, Florida, grandchildren Kristen Davis and Billy Vetter, both of Jacksonville and Julia Gosson of Palm Coast, Florida, great grandchildren Daisha Davis and Aleigha Davis, both of Jacksonville, brother Robert Kurucz of Proctorville, Ohio and sisters Janet Gantz of Lorain, Irene Strong of Elyria, Wilma Szabo of Lorain and Helen Toth of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his wife Cecelia E. Kurucz (nee Kowalczyk) in 1990, parents Joseph and Veronica Kurucz (nee Bucz), sister Mary Putt and brothers Andrew Kurucz, John Kurucz, Frank Kurtz, Michael Kurucz and Joseph Kurtz.
The family will receive friends Sunday 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria Twp. The Rev. James Ols, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the VFW Post #451 and American Legion #30 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
