Donald R. Moore, 80, Enjoyed Spending Time with His Grandchildren, Gardening, and Fishing
Donald R. Moore, 80, of Lorain, died Thursday December 23, 2010 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.He was born August 13, 1930 in Jollytown, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1955.
Donald worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio as a senior fitter for 30 years retiring in 1985.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, gardening, yard-work, fishing and going to Jamie's Flea Market. Donald was an avid NASCAR and WWE wrestling fan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Merle Moore (nee Frost), children Duane Moore of Lorain, Gary Moore of Carlisle Township, Lloyd Moore of North Las Vegas, Nevada and Judy Moore of Lorain, grandchildren Eric Moore of Eaton Township, Amy Moore of Lakewood, LeaNora Moore, Miguel Moore and Carlos Moore, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, 5 great grandchildren, sisters Naomi Wood of Washington, Pennsylvania, Jean Fordyce of Lorain, Bonnie Wood of Amherst, Yvonne Frost of North Ridgeville and Ruth McMillen of Lorain and brother Earl Moore of Rochester, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Frances Moore (nee Edgar), sisters Mary Delaney, Jane Lewis and Martha Kilkenny and brother Edgar Moore.
The family will receive friends Sunday 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Matt Jones, pastor of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain, officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
