Samuel Brown, 94, US Army Veteran, Avid Bowler and Golfer

Samuel Brown of Lorain passed away Friday evening, December 24, 2010 at Life Care Center of Elyria at the age of 94.

Mr. Brown was a 1933 graduate of Lorain High School. He served in the US Army for three and a half years during World War II. Most of that time, overseas, in operations from Africa through Italy.

After the war, he took over the Elyria Window Cleaning business until he retired in l971. He was an avid bowler and golfer.

Mr. Brown was a member of B'nai B'rith, Jewish War Veterans and Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain. He served many years as a trustee and house man.

He is survived by his brothers Theodore Brown, Morris (Dorothy) Brown both of Sunrise, FL, sisters Lillian Gottlieb of Lorain, Regina Meadvin of
Syracuse, N.Y. and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Helen Brown and a brother Joseph Brown.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain with Cantor David Wolinsky, officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery, Sheffield Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions maybe made to the Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue, Post Office Box 326, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
