Mary T. Krutkiewicz, 86, Enjoyed Gardening, Bowling and Crocheting

Photo of Mary T. Krutkiewicz Mary T. Krutkiewicz (nee Zappa), 86, of Lorain, died Saturday December 25, 2010 at Lake Pointe Health Center in Lorain after a long illness.

She was born May 11, 1924 in Glenco, Ohio and had resided in the Lorain area most of her life.

Mary graduated from the Lorain High School class of 1941A. During World War II, she worked at General Industries in Elyria. Later she worked as a cook at May Company in Sheffield Centre and at Admiral King High School in Lorain.

Mary was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain where she taught PSR classes. She was also a member of the TOPS Club.

She enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, fishing, cooking and baking for others.

She is survived by her children Susanne Krutkiewicz and Joseph Krutkiewicz, both of Lorain, sister Cecelia Fabrizio of Akron and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Krutkiewicz in 1980, parents Dominic and Josephine Zappa (nee Morissini), brother Premo Zappa, sister Theresa Perisi and godson Robert Loder.

The family will receive friends Monday 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the rosary will be prayed Monday at 3 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
