Donald D. ''Bear'' Dane, 61, Enjoyed Fishing & Hunting

He was born March 26, 1949 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst since 1975.
Don graduated from Clearview High School in 1967. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War with the rank of Sergeant E-5. Later he attended the Cleveland Engineering Institute.
Don worked as an assembler for almost 30 years at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant and 3 months at the Ford Truck Plant in Avon Lake where he retired in 2006.
He was a life member of both VFW Post #1662 in Amherst and AMVETS Post #47 in Lorain and a member of the Amherst Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years Kathy (nee Culig), mother Agnes Brezina (nee Caco) of Lorain, brother Tim Dane (Linda) of Amherst, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sylvia von Meyer (Ferdinand) of Lorain, sister-in-law Judy Klier of Avon Lake and nieces and nephews Maureen Johnson (Tom), Tom Dane (Sheila), Diana Dane and Colin Klier.
He was preceded in death by his father Tom Dane and brother-in-law Tom Klier in 2010.
The family will receive friends Monday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria Twp. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
