Dorothy M. Armbuster-Moore, 91, Avid Sports Fan
She was born in North Ridgeville, and lived most of her life in the Elyria area. It is in Elyria that she was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, American Legion Elyria Post 12 Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at EMH and St. Andrews. She was also a member of the Wellington Eagle Ladies Auxiliary 2051. Dorothy was an avid sports fan with particular love for Nascar and Indian’s baseball. She was also known to enjoy playing games of chance.
Dorothy had enjoyed several careers during her working life; as a bus driver and secretary with Midview Schools, a proud employee of the Ford Motor Company and at several Nursing Homes in the area.
She is survived by her daughters, Agnes M. (Tom) Smith of Wellington, Cathy (David) Whalen of Grafton and Shirley (Craig) Points of Valley City, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, sisters, Martha Linden of North Ridgeville, Helen Silac of North Ridgeville, Eleanor Hess of Grafton and Ruth Frey of California.
She was predeceased in death by her first husband, Lawrence Armbuster, second husband, Walter Moore, son, Robert Armbuster, brothers, Edward, Robert, Lawrence and Ralph Taylor, and sister, Leonarda Rofe, Catherine Hamker.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 300 3rd Street, Elyria. The Reverend Catherine Wright will officiate. Interment to follow at St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
