John G. Mlinac, 92, US Army Veteran, Enjoyed Fishing and Polka Music

He was born July 31, 1918 in Lorain. He lived all his life in Lorain. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1936.
Mr. Mlinac served in the Army with the Company A, 506 Military Police Battalion during World War II in Rhineland and Central Europe earning two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct and Victory medals.
John retired from Thew-Lorain Division of Koehring Co. in 1979. He worked there for 43 years. He was a member of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, Lorain. He was also a member of the American Croatian Club, Lorain. He was a founding member of Admiral King High School Athletic Boosters Club. John was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, and polka music.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 Margaret A. Mlinac (née Hrbal) of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents John G. and Rose (née Fogel) Mlinac; brother Lawrence Mlinac and a sister Margaret Jezierski.
His family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Where closing prayers will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, then Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, Homewood drive and Grove Avenue (Route 57) in Lorain. Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Where the Disabled American Veterans, Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20, Lorain will conduct military honors.
