Midge Hamm-Hook, 77, Active in Outrach Missions, Enjoyed Spending Time with Her Children and Grandchildren
Midge Hamm-Hook (nee Burress), 77, of Sheffield Township, died Saturday January 22, 2011 at the home of her daughter Susan after a lengthy illness.She was born March 23, 1933 in Havaco, West Virginia and had resided in Sheffield Township for the past 2 years moving from Lorain where she had lived for over 30 years.
Midge worked as a Shipping Clerk at Parker-Hannifin in Elyria for 32 years retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Church of the New Harvest in Elyria where she was active in outreach missions with the homeless shelter, participated in church revivals and was a member of the Women of the Harvest ladies group.
Midge enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Randy Burress (Lucia) of Princeton, WV, daughters Barbara Hamm of Lorain and Susan Hamm in Sheffield Township, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and brother Joseph Burress (Marge) of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Hook, son Donald Hamm, triplet grandsons, one sister and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Church of the New Harvest, 223 Clinton Ave, Elyria. The Rev. Danny Parsons, pastor, will officiate. A private burial service will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
