Kirby S. ''Snapper'' McKain, 47, Founding Member of Boy Scout Troop 175
Kirby S. "Snapper" McKain, age 47, of Carlisle Twp. passed away suddenly on Monday January 31, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and had been a resident of Carlisle Twp. for the past 15 years moving from North Ridgeville.
He graduated from North Ridgeville High School class of 1982.
Kirby was a founding member of Boy Scout Troop 175, N. Ridgeville.
He was currently employed at ABCO Fire Protection in Cleveland.
Kirby was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed canoeing and fishing. He was a proud and active union member of Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 669.
Survivors include his sisters, Kelley Lowstetter of Russia Twp., Terri (John) Pizza of Nashville, TN; niece, Alyssa Lowstetter and step-mother, S. Sue McKain of Oberlin.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine “Kay” Carpenter; father, Lewis K. McKain; and niece, Deanna Jo Lowstetter.
Friends may call from 12 noon until time of memorial service at 1 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
