Paul Beca, 94, Enjoyed Vegetable Gardening

He was born May 19, 1916 in Ukraine. Mr. Beca immigrated to Lorain from Germany in the late 1940's. He served in the Ukrainian Army during World War II.
Mr. Beca retired as hooker in the Bar Mill of U. S. Steel Lorain-Cuyahoga Works He worked there for 10 years. Prior to that he worked for Fruehauf Trailer Co. in Avon Lake for 25 years.
Paul was a member of Saint Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Lorain and was a member of its Choir. He was an officer of the Ukrainian National Home, Lorain. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 1104, Lorain and the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.
He enjoyed vegetable gardening and landscaping. Paul also enjoyed shortwave radio, his dogs and nature.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 75 years Fannie Beca (née Radick) of Lorain and his son Thomas Klinar of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Eva (née Pavlchyn) Beca and his brothers and sisters.
His family will receive friends Friday from 9 until time of his funeral service at 11 A. M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Rev. Chuck Behrens, Hospice of the Western Reserve Spiritual Care Coordinator will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
