Roberta P. Pazder, 86, Enjoyed Spending Time with Her Family, Traveling and Volunteering at Mercy Hospital

Photo of Roberta P.  Pazder Roberta P. "Pinky" Pazder (nee Pinkerton), 86, of Lorain, passed away peacefully Monday February 14, 2011 after a lengthy illness.

She was surrounded by her loving family and was under the compassionate care of New Life Hospice in Lorain.

Pinky was born August 7, 1924 in Grosse Ile, Michigan and was a resident of Lorain since 1947.

She was a volunteer at Lorain Mercy Hospital for over 20 years. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and the church Altar Guild and St. Elizabeth Guild and served as an Acolyte Mother.

Roberta's passions included spending time with her family, traveling, gardening and volunteering at Mercy Hospital. She had a special love for all animals, especially her cats.

She is survived by her sons Richard Pazder (Lynn) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Martin Pazder (Mary) of Huron and Jeffrey Pazder of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Christopher Pazder, parents Robert and Roma Pinkerton (nee Fulwell), sister Mary Roma Johnson, brother George Pinkerton and her former husband Richard Pazder.

The family will receive friends Friday 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Private burial will be held at a later date at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
