Bienvenida Pagan, 84, Avid Cleveland Indians Fan

She was born July 23, 1926 in Lares, Puerto Rico and moved to Lorain in 1951.
By the time she was 13 years old both of her parents had passed away and she was left to care for five siblings, four which died shortly after her parents. She spent a short time living in a convent prior to living with other relatives.
In 1945, she married Rosario Pagan, Sr and they had 10 children. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain and made her Cursillos many years ago. Her faith in God was very strong and she would spend hours praying.
Bienvenida was an avid Cleveland Indians baseball fan and her favorite pastime was traveling, especially on cruises and casino trips. She was loved very much by all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She had a special long-time relationship with her sister-in-law Carmen Pagan and brother-in-law Rufino Pagan, Sr. along with her deceased sister-in-law Josefa "Pepita" Aponte.
She is survived by her sons Rosario, Jr "Roe" (Linda), Ramon "Munchie" (Dianna), Carlos "Collie" (Patti), Manuel "Tony" (Barb), all of Lorain, Jose "Cheo" (Patti) of Dublin, Ohio, Robert "Papo" (Marian) of Madison, Wisconsin and Rafael "Baby" (Beth) of Newark, Delaware, daughters Socorro "Coki" Gomez (Carmelo) and Maria "Mary" Majoras (Eddie), all of Lorain, 19 grandchildren Brian, Michael, Roe, Carlos, Aaron, Daniel, Christopher, Robert, Christina, Lisandra and Gabrielle Pagan, David and Ricky Gomez, Mark and Matthew Majoras, Rae Marie Bastock, Michelle Nimene, April Welch and Sarah Hudson and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Rosario Pagan, Sr, son Carlos Pagan, parent Tomas and Saturnina Perez (nee Colon) and siblings Tomas, Erudina, Maria Theresa, Neftali and Elva Iris Perez.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4, 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where a remembrance service will be held Tuesday at 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:45 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian burial Wednesday at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. The Rev. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
