Manuel '' Manny'' Santos, 54, Auto Mechanic

Photo of Manuel '' Manny'' Santos Manuel "Manny" Santos 54 of Lorain, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a heart attack.

He was born January 18, 1957 in Lorain. He was a life long resident. Manny was a self employed auto mechanic. He worked in Central Labor and in the Coke Plant of U. S. Steel Lorain Works.

He enjoyed working on cars especially his Corvettes. He also enjoyed talking about religion and the Bible. Manny was a very intelligent, compassionate and giving man, who took care of his family and friends wile asking nothing in return.

He will be deeply missed by his sons Manuel Santos and Matthew Santos both of Lorain and a his daughters Christine (Frankie) Martinez of Lorain and Angela (Mike) Rosario Mendak of Broward County, Florida; as well as his parents Juan E. and Anna (née Silva) Santos of Lorain; his brothers John (Olga), James (Karen), Eduardo and Richard (Robin) Santos all of Lorain; sister Wilma (Jose) Ocasio of Lorain; brother in law Al Ortiz of Amherst; a life long friend Bobby Rosa of Lorain; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Anita Ortiz in April 2003.

His family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Where closing prayers will be Wednesday at 8:45 then Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Reverend, Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
