Paul G. Christen, Jr., 60, US Marine Vietnam War Veteran
Paul G. Christen, Jr., 60, of Lorain, died Sunday April 10, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.
He was born August 20, 1950 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Paul served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and Rifle Expert Badge.
Paul worked at the Euclid Foundry for 4 years. Prior to that he worked at US Steel in Lorain.
Paul collected guns, enjoyed classic rock music, played the guitar, enjoyed his motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children Paul A. Christen and Michelle Christen, both of Lorain, granddaughter Nikki Christen of Lorain, father Paul G. Christen, Sr of Lorain, brother Wayne Christen (Mona) of Lorain, sister Sharon Erwin (Jim) and former wife Rose Mowery (Jack) of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rose Christen (nee Septaric in 2009.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
