Richard Reid Fauver, Jr., 74, Avid Tennis Player

His death, at the age of 74, followed a series of strokes over the past few months, according to his family.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Fauver was the owner and general manager of Lassen Electronics of Fremont, CA, a manufacturer of wiring components for electronic products. Earlier he spent several years with Brobeck Engineering of Berkeley, CA, helping to develop a first of its kind electronic cash register for the fast-food industry.
Mr. Fauver was born on July 27, 1936, the son of Richard Fauver, a civil engineer, and Elnora Horn Fauver, a teacher. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1954 and from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY with a BS degree in civil engineering, in 1958. At R.P.I. he was a member of Phalanx, a senior honor society, and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He earned a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1963.
Survivors include two stepchildren, Richard McFarland of McCloud, CA, and Jeanne McFarland of Arcata, CA; a sister, Catherine Fauver of Walnut Creek, CA, and his companion, Susan Dalcamo. His wife, Antoinette, died in 2004.
He was an avid tennis player and had traveled widely in Europe, China, Africa, Mexico and the Pacific Islands.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 23, at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township, Ohio, followed by a reception at DeLuca's in the Park, 6075 Middle Ridge Road in Lorain.
A memorial gathering will be held at his home in Orinda at a date to be announced. The family suggest contributions to an environmental organization of the donor's choice.
