Ivan A. Lorenzana, 74, National Light Weight Golden Gloves Champion

He was born June 9, 1936 in Ciales, Puerto Rico. He moved from the Bronx, New York to Lorain. He worked for Fruehauf Trailer in Avon Lake and in local green houses.

Mr. Lorenzana was a member of the House of Praise International Church, Lorain. He was a national light weight golden gloves champion. He enjoyed weight lifting. He was featured in USA Power Lifting magazine. Ivan also enjoyed being outdoors and his dog Warrior. He loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren and the company of his loving wife Dolores.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years Dolores (née Flores) Lorenzana of Lorain; his sons Ivan Lorenzana, Jr., of Elyria, and Rubin Lorenzana of Pittsburg and Raul Lorenzana of Elyria; a daughter Lisa Flint of Lorain;

sisters Carmen Otero, Gloria Otero and Nilda Otero all of Bronx, Rosa Marrero of Ciales, of Lorain and Angelina Otero of Florida; a brother Putcho Otero of Florida; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Benancio Otero and Isabel Clotilde Lorenzana; his daughter Dolores Kassab(née Lorenzana); a son Antonio Lorenzana; brothers Ricardo Pinero and Antonio Otero and a sister Julia E. Hernandez and Lidia Pinero.

His family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. His funeral will be Thursday at 10 A.M. in the House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Gilbert Silva, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
