Elizabeth Heider , 94, Cafeteria Manager at Admiral King High School

Photo of Elizabeth Heider Elizabeth Heider (nee Kosakowski), 94, of Lorain, died Sunday May 1, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.

She was born July 17, 1916 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Elizabeth worked for Lorain city schools as a cafeteria manager at Masson School and Admiral King High School.

She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lorain and the Mother’s Guild of the church.

Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, bingo and playing cards.

She is survived by her children Alice Kinney (Raymond) and William G. Heider (Pat), all of Lorain, daughter-in-law Renee Heider of Lorain, grandchildren Lori Partyka (Chris), William T. Heider (Anna), Scott W. Heider (Ruth), Thomas W. Heider (JoEllen), Nicole Klamer (Walter) and Kimberly Duta, 15 great grandchildren, brother John Kosakowski (Helen) of Lorain and sisters Theresa Tomaszewski and Helen Olexa, both of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Heider in 1986, son Thomas G. Heider in 2009, parents Stanley and Sophie Kosakowski, sisters Frances Kovach, Stella Mihalic and Mary Ann Jessel and brothers Eddie Kosakowski, Carl Kosakowski and Philip Kosakowski.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 3-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
