Alice Kretovics, 81, Former Secretary At Lorain Products

Alice A. Kretovics (nee Telatnik), age 81, of Lorain, passed away Monday May 2, 2011 at the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center.

She was born in Lorain on August 21, 1929 and remained a life-long resident of the city.

Alice was a 1947 graduate of Lorain High School. She was employed as a secretary for Lorain Products from 1947 until the time of her retirement in 1974.

Mrs. Kretovics was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter and volunteered in a multitude of activities within the parish and especially visiting shut-ins. She was also a member of the Holy Name Society and was a former member of the National Council of Catholic Women.

She was an accomplished cook and a loyal follower of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns professional sports teams. Alice also enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Louis, by her son Dale (Debi) Kretovics of Vermilion, by daughters Kay Majesky (Dave) of Grove City, Ohio and Jane (Tim) Stephanchick of Greenbrier, Tennessee, along with seven grandchildren and two great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her father Wasiel Telatnik in 1971, by her mother Pearl (nee Augustine) in 2003, and by her sister Dorothy Telatnik in 2004.

Graveside services for the family were conducted in Calvary Cemetery on Wednesday May 4th with the Reverend Craig Hovanec, Pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter officiating. A memorial mass will be celebrated later this month.
