Jos� Rivera Morell, 80, Ford Brook Engine Plant Retiree
José Rivera Morell 80 of Lorain, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Lake Pointe Health Care Center, Lorain.
He was born July 20, 1930 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain in 1952.
Mr. Morell retired from Ford Brook Engine Plant in 1982. He worked there for 30 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and the United Auto Workers Local 1250 in Brookpark. He enjoyed playing dominos, cards and working in his vegetable garden. He also liked to visit his family in Puerto Rico.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years Lucia Salinas Nieves Morell of Lorain, his sons William and Hector Luis Rivera both of Lorain, brothers Luis, Domingo Catalano and Ramon Rivera all of Aguadilla; sister Angelita Rivera of Aguadilla; grandsons Lee, Jason, Hector, Brad, and Shawn Rivera, and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Domingo Rivera and Maria Morell.
His family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. His funeral will be Monday 10 A.M. in the funeral home. His burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Lorain.
