Lucille Rak, 90, Electronic Assembler At Lorain Products

Photo of Lucille Rak Lucille S. Rak, (nee Golinski), age 90, of Elyria, and formerly of Lorain, passed away Saturday May 21st at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria.

She was born in Lorain on January 26, 1921. Lucille lived the majority of her life in Lorain but had been a resident of Elyria for the past ten years.

Mrs. Rak was a former parishioner of both Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church (Lorain) and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. While attending St. Stanislaus she was a member of the Women’s Sodality as well as the Altar & Rosary Society.

She was employed as an electronic assembler for the Lorain Products Corporation retiring in 1986 following 13 years of service with the manufacturer. Lucille had previously been employed by the Lorain Public School System in the cafeteria at Irving School.

In her free time she enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an avid fan of all Cleveland professional sports teams.

Survivors include her sons Raymond (Muriel) of South Amherst, Robert (Connie) of Westlake, and Edward M. (Deb) of Amherst Township, daughter-in-law Linda (nee Schmidt) of Lorain, along with six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rak was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Rak in 1973, by her son Kenneth in 2003, by her parents Anthony and Mary Golinski, by her sister Helen Ruthkowski, and by her brother Edward Golinski.

Visitation will be Wednesday May 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Robert Glepko, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
