Joseph Striker, 66, Die-Hard Cleveland Browns Fan

He was born June 17, 1944 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst Township for the past 11 years.
Joe was a graduate of Lorain High School in 1962. He served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War as a sergeant and radar technician. Joe later earned an associate degree in computer engineering at Lorain County Community College.
Joe worked at US Steel in Lorain where he did non-destructive testing on pipe products before retiring.
He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain, a life member of VFW Post #451 of Lorain and a member of VFW Post #1662 in Amherst. He was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues at Rebman Recreation in Lorain. Joe enjoyed golf and was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan and a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Patricia Striker (nee Thiel), children Joseph A. Striker (Melissa) of North Ridgeville and Marcella M. Striker-McDavid (Anthony) of Avon, mother Ann Striker (nee Firago) of Amherst and grandchildren Patrick Griffith, Gillian Striker, Marin Striker, Scarlett McDavid and Katie Turner. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Striker and sister Patricia Kryc.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:00 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the VFW Post #451 and American Legion #30, both of Lorain, will conduct military honors.
