Gilda DiFilippo, 94, Dalton Clothing Retiree

Photo of Gilda DiFilippo Gilda DiFilippo, (nee Sciulli), age 94, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday June 15th at Kingston of Vermilion.

She was born in Republic, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1916 and had been a resident of Lorain since her childhood.

Gilda was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain; she was formerly employed by Goodall’s as well as the Dalton Clothing Outlet.

In her free time she enjoyed cooking and baking. Additional interests included crocheting, all forms of crafts, cleaning, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son Alfred (Ellen) DiFilippo of Lorain, daughters Julie (Mario) Mannarelli and Patricia Garver both of Lorain, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and her sister Lenore Sciulli also of Lorain.

Mrs. DiFilippo was preceded in death by her husband Pasquale G. DiFilippo in 1998, by her parents Donato and Antoinette (nee Silvestri) Sciulli, by sister Frances Scardami, and by brothers Henry, Ernest, Raymond, Daniel, Adam, and Orest.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
