Ann Kisula, 98, Active With The Lorain County Arts Council
Ann Kisula, age 98, passed away on June 27th, 2011 following an extended illness.
Born in Ralphton, Pennsylvania, she had been a resident of Lorain for seventy-seven years until moving to a Westlake care center in 2006.
Ann is survived by her children Carol Hart Safier (David) of Westlake, Peter Loper (Lynn) of Elyria, Louis Lopez (Shirley) residing in Florida, and Rose Liszczynsky of New Jersey along with eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Rose Kisula, by her son George Loper, and eight siblings.
Ann was extremely active with the Lorain County Arts Council Hospitality Committee and volunteered with costuming at the Lorain County Community College Theater Arts Department throughout the 1970's. She was also proud of her service to her country as a coat assembler for the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
She was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain.
Ann's family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. A Parastas service will be conducted there at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with Panachida services in the funeral chapel. The Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 West 40th Street in Lorain. Reverend Nicholas Rachford will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family encourages memorial contributions to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
