Mary J. Bates, 82, Enjoyed reading, bowling & bingo
Mary J. Bates (née Williamson) 82 of Lorain passed away Thursday July 28, 2011 in Oak Hills Nursing Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
She was born February 13, 1929 in Cleveland. She came to Lorain in 1965 and made her home here for the remainder of her life.
Mary worked at Service Overall and Lorain Community Hospital as a housekeeper. She enjoyed reading, bowling and bingo.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters Linda J. (Gerry) Sweeten of Conroe, Texas, Diana (Ken) Crane of Jemison, Alabama, Debby Bouchonville of Amherst; her son James W. Bates of Jemison; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years James W. Bates in 1981; granddaughter Shannon M. Bates and a son in law Mark D. Bouchonville.
Her family will receive friends Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of her funeral service at 11 A.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Rev. Mark Telepak of Crossroads Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill memorial Park, Amherst Township.
