Charles R. Pheneger, 67, Chuck's Sohio Manager

Photo of Charles R. Pheneger Charles R. Pheneger 67 of Lorain died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in EMH Healthcare in Amherst following a short illness.

He was born August 22, 1944 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 2 he moved to Vermilion where he lived until he moved to Lorain in 1981. He graduated from Vermilion High School in 1962.

Mr. Pheneger managed Chuck's Sohio in Vermilion with his dad. He worked at Vermilion Power Boats as a mechanic, as a supervisor for SBS Transit in Lorain and Retired from NAPA Auto Parts, Lorain in 2009.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1971.

He will be dearly missed by his son Charles R. Pheneger of Bowling Green; step-son Donald Burket of Aurora, Colorado; step-daughters Merilee Burket (Paul) Koci and Melody Burket Aguliar both of Brunswick, Susan Clark (Rob) Williams of North Ridgeville, Jeanette Clark Scott of Sheffield Village, Tammy Clark (Roger) Fouts of Louisville, Kentucky and Lorrie Clark (John) Weimer of Elyria; a sister Sandy Blanden of Lorain and a special friend Marquita Tolliver of Lorain; 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles A. and Bette (née McLaren) Pheneger

His family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Where a memorial celebration will be held Friday evening at 5:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, 2506 Lorain, Ohio 44052.
