Robert S. Smith, 44, Operations Manager
Robert S. Smith, age 44, of Amherst Township, passed away Tuesday October 11, 2011 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland following a sudden illness.
Bob was born in Lorain on June 13, 1967 and enjoyed playing baseball in the Lorain Youth Baseball League.
He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1985 where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He went on to attend the University of Toledo.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army and for the past ten years had been employed as the operations manager for Brandt Pools and Spas based in Amherst.
He is survived by his son Colin P. Smith of Amherst, daughter Lauren N. Smith of Lagrange, significant other Tina M. Clees of Amherst, along with his father James Smith, brother Douglas Smith, and half brother Christopher Smith all of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his son Owen Smith in 2000 and by his mother Elaine B. Zicarelli in 2006.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
