Anne E. ''Eileen'' Mariotti, 89, Bookkeeper

Photo of Anne E. ''Eileen'' Mariotti Anne E. “Eileen” Mariotti, (nee Waring), age 89, of Amherst Township, passed away Sunday October 23, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Mariotti was born in Liverpool, England on December 2, 1921 and had been a resident of Amherst Township for the past 25 years; she had previously resided in Lorain.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for the family-owned Mariotti Printing Company for 38 years retiring in 1990.

Eileen was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Lorain where she was a member of the Women’s Group and had taught Sunday School for 35 years. In addition, she assisted in selecting hymns to be used during worship services there. She was a member of the Colony Club and had served for more than a decade on the Lorain Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors. Regarded as an accomplished knitter, she also enjoyed swimming and floral arranging in her free time.

She is survived by her daughter Lynne Mariotti Walters (John) of Amherst, son Martin (Michele) of Carlisle Township, grandchildren Ayla, Martin John, Mara, and Mia, and by sisters Olive Fowler of Brantford, Ontario and Marjorie Collins of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband Martin J. Mariotti in 2002, and by her parents George and Ada (nee Doyle) Waring.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Friends may also call on Tuesday in the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 647 Reid Avenue, Lorain form 9:30 a.m. a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m.. Reverend Mary Carson will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
