Dale T. ''Sidewinder'' Dandrea, 69, Avid CB Radio Enthusiast
Dale T. "Sidewinder" Dandrea, 69, of Lorain passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain from complications of a stroke.
Mr. Dandrea was born in Lorain on September 6, 1942, the son of the late Emil T. and Ruth V. (nee Gove) Dandrea.
He was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1960. He worked at US Steel retiring in the mid 1970's. Mr. Dandrea and his parents were competitive archers and he was a member of the former Bow & Barrel Archery Club.
He was well known as "Sidewinder" on his CB radio. He was an avid CB radio enthusiast. He repaired CB's for many fellow CBer's, even recently keeping in touch with many people via his CB. He was very good with electronics and especially computers. He also enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Dandrea is survived by a daughter, Ruthann Dandrea of Sheffield Township, a son Dale L. Dandrea of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, a sister, Etta J. Ramos of Lorain, brother Lewis F. (Linda) Dandrea, of Vermilion, nephews Michael, Anthony and a niece Antoinette.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 1:00 until a Celebration of his Life at 4:00 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Burial will be private.
