Julia Olah, 89, Enjoyed Puzzles & Playing Games with Grandchildren
Julia Olah (neeSpisak), 89, of Lorain, died Monday November 7, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
She was born July 9, 1922 in Pleasant City, Ohio and had resided in the Lorain/Elyria areas most of her life.
Along with her husband Julius, she owned and operated a vegetable farm on W. River Road in Elyria.
Julia was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Sheffield Township where she was active with the Altar Guild and the Prayer and Psalms Group.
She enjoyed puzzles, playing games with her grandchildren, playing cards, bingo and gardening.
She is survived by her children Patricia Luka of Big Pine, California, Jeannie Olah of Lorain and Jerry Olah (Diane) of Lorain, 3 granddaughters, 6 great granddaughters and sister Betty Lovich of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Julius "Pundy" Olah in 1985, parents George and Mary Spisak (nee Gallo) and 11 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Additional viewing will be held Friday from 9:00 am until the time of funeral services at 10:00 am at Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd, Sheffield Township. The Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
