Edward J. Muzilla, 84, Enjoyed Vegetable Gardening
Edward J. Muzilla, 84, of Amherst, died Saturday November 12, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
He was born March 24, 1927 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst for the past 53 years.
Edward was a graduate of Clearview High School and then served with the US Navy during World War II.
Edward built his own home having worked as a Bricklayer for 45 years. He was a member of the Bricklayer and Mason Local #34.
Edward was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theodora A. Muzilla (nee Klekota) whom he married on September 17, 1949 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain; children Dennis J. Muzilla (Beverly J) of Amherst, Gail A. Paukst (Robert J.) of Elyria, Donald J. Muzilla (Pamela M.) of Strongsville and David J. Muzilla (Michele M.) of Wadsworth; grandchildren Robert Paukst, Rebecca Kelley, Anne Muzilla, Alan Muzilla, Michael Muzilla, Elizabeth Muzilla, Christopher Muzilla and Jennifer Miklos; great granddaughters Paige and Alexa Kelley and Alyssa and Mia Paukst; sisters Alexandria Ivancic of Elyria and Catherine Muzilla of Columbus and brothers Raymond Muzilla of Vermilion and Stephen Muzilla of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Catherine Muzilla (nee Krontz) and brother Richard Muzilla of Amherst.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Way, Amherst. The Rev. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
